walk on a beautiful day || found a baby bird!

Hello Lovelies!

Last weekend my guy and I took a walk and found this super sweet baby bird!
Now, this was a cute baby bird. I had a nest on my porch with baby robins. Not cute. They looked like foreign alien dinosaur birds. Yea...gross. I did not take pictures of them. xP

But this baby bird was a yellow finch baby bird! So cute and little, we almost stepped on it! That's how tiny it was!
Michael let it climb onto a stick so as not to touch it, and it just sat there for awhile.

We continued on our walk and on our way home we checked on him. He was still sitting in the grass and I was worried that some animal would come along in the night and get him. So we went home, grabbed a paper towel, and heroic Michael scooped him up and stuck him in a nearby bush to give him more of a fighting chance. (even though he thought it was a little silly not to let nature take its course. He humored me. :) )

I haven't seem him since, but I'm sure he survived! :)

personal: birthday surprise!! || chicago, il

I took my boyfriend Michael downtown to Chicago for his birthday. I planned everything that day as a surprise. And he was surprised!

We ate a picnic breakfast at the station and then off we went! When we got to Chicago we took a water taxi to the Mag Mile. We did a little shopping, eating, swimming and watched the Buckingham Fountain water and light show. It was wonderful!!

Alec & Amanda: engagement || chicago il, engagement & wedding photographer

The beginning of a happily ever after. . . . .

A few months ago I shot this couple's engagement pictures. They are getting married tomorrow. :) 

They are charming and adorable. 

I'll share a little of their story.

This lovely girl is Amanda. I have known her for around 5 years. I have been blessed by this friendship many many times! She is a smart, loving, kind, beautiful, compassionate, graceful, forgiving, and God fearing woman. Those are only a few of the things that make her a lovely person. 

About a year and a half ago she started dating this mysterious young man. He started visiting his uncles and aunts church, which happened to be the church that Amanda goes to. This young man, whose name is Alec, is the nephew of Amanda's dear friend. 

Skip forward a few months and Alec asks Amanda out. They get to know each other and end up falling in love. *sigh* I love love stories.

Now Amanda will be part of the family which she already loves and who are dear friends of hers. God brought them together in a beautiful way neither of them could have foreseen. 

Alec is a great guy. He loves Amanda so much! It was awesome getting to witness their beautiful love. Their story is truly God scripted.

Their story has just begun. Tomorrow starts a whole new journey. 

I am honored and blessed to be apart of it.

God bless you, Amanda and Alec! God has many great plans for your future! <3
